The creator of Alhambra Blue used dark blue gray clay to explore geometrical shapes. The teapot is a rectangular block with an angular handle. The spout is a graceful, fluid counterpoint to the angles. The finial is also a block with small raised panels that suggest a tiled effect. The complex body of the teapot has visible depth, since it is overlaid with panels of cut out, stylized diamond shapes. Alhambra Blue's intricate design will appear to the person with sophisticated tastes.
