This very unusual teapot is dark chocolate brown and semicircular in shape. A very detailed figure of a locust is the finial. The bamboo motif is prominent on the handle, spout, and upper perimeter of the teapot. In fact, the artist has actually illustrated the growth of the bamboo plant on one side and on the buckle. Calligraphy decorates the other side of the teapot. On the bottom are two bars that appear to be delicate feet when the teapot is upright. The great amount of detail on this piece and its unusual shape contribute to its dramatic effect.
