Coin is one of the larger teapots on this site. Its milk chocolate brown body widens from lip to mid-belly and then tapers toward a narrower bottom. The belly is decorated with Chinese coins depicted in relief. Beneath the coins are tiny imprinted dots. Coin's lid is elaborate--large Chinese script is raised on a textured surface. The lid is finished with a series of graduated bands carved into the clay. The finial is half a coin with pronounced Chinese script. The script also appears on the thick, circular handle. Coin is truly a rich-looking piece for tea and display.
