Because of its unusual flat shape, the Frog Lid yixing teapot resembles the Heart Sutra. The clay is red-brown. A frog poses alertly on a lily pad lid. The handle resembles a vine, even including miniscule thornes. The vine motif continues in the spout, where the artist has carved a tendril. This teapot is about as cute as it can be.
